As a truck that does all the traditional things you’d want a truck to do and does them well, the Ford F-150 is already a great choice for buyers. But with the new Lightning bringing an all-electric option to the mix, new tech options, and numerous best-in-class ratings, this year has given you even more to love about the versatile pickup. Read on to find out what you need to know about the 2002 Ford F-150.

An Up-Close Look at the 2022 Ford F-150

The fourteenth generation of this full-size pickup truck was introduced in 2021 and quickly won a broad fanbase. It comes available in six primary trim levels: the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Limited, and two off-road trims, the Tremor and Raptor. It can be configured to combine one of three bed lengths with a regular cab, SuperCab, or CrewCab.

Power

All six powertrains are available at each trim level, meaning that the base-level XL comes available with more torque and better acceleration than competitors. The F-150 can tow as much as 14,000 pounds and its payload tops out at 3,325. All models are available in rear or all-wheel drive and come with 10-speed transmission as standard.

Efficiency

With fuel tank sizes that range from 23 to 36 gallons, the F-150 has the highest in-class non-diesel fuel economy. The RWD with the V8 or 3.5l V6 engine can get 20 mpg on city/highway driving, while the hybrid engine with 4WD gets 24 mpg.

Comfort

Seating in the F-150 is supportive and adjustable, with heating, ventilation, and even a massage option! Max Recline seats will fold back to form a nearly flat bed, and there’s also climate control and an intuitive interior layout. With engine, road, tire, and wind noise kept to a minimum, and an interior work surface available, the spacious cab can accommodate your demands no matter how you use your truck.

New Features in 2022

With onboard scales with smart hitch and continuously controlled damping introduced later in 2021, the 2022 refresh already promised a smoother ride and more practical working application. A 2022 update of the off-road Raptor trim was also announced, with the Raptor-R tipped to come fitted with the more potent V8 engine.
A new exterior color, Atlas Blue, has been unveiled for 2022, as well as interior Black Appearance packages on selected trims. And with a 12-inch center touchscreen and digital gauge cluster, the F-150 is more user-friendly than ever. Active driver safety aids, as well as smartphone integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, are now standard on all models.

The New F-150 Lightning

One of the most exciting innovations of this Ford truck in 2022 has been the debut of the F-150 Lightning, the first all-electric engine that can double as a generator and even power your house. With advanced Pro Power Onboard, drivers will be able to take advantage of the built-in outlets to power tools and appliances.

Always tough and reliable, the new F150 is now even more adaptable, practical, and able to handle whatever you ask of it. To find out more, schedule a test drive, browse our inventory, or just have a helpful chat about what you’re looking for in a vehicle, call Lundeen Ford Brothers of Annandale.
