What’s New in the 2023 Mach-E?
The 2023 model year brings a few updates to the still-new Mach-E, including improved efficiency in the electric motor for the Premium trim, which extends its range up to 290 miles, and two new exterior colors: metallic gray and metallic blue. Additional safety features were also made standard instead of optional upgrades as a part of Ford’s Co-Pilot360 suite of software, which we’ll review in more detail below.
Engine and Performance
The 2023 Mach-E is powered by an electric motor that is either mounted on the rear or both axles depending on whether you pick a model with RWD or AWD, respectively, and comes with a standard 70 kWh battery pack that can be upgraded to an extended range 91 kWh model. The maximum range of the Mach-E before it needs a charge will range from 224 to 314 miles, depending on the optional packages and trim level that you choose.
The range of options available means that the motor of the Mach-E varies in horsepower output depending on how you customize your vehicle, but in general, you can expect to top out with the GT trim levels with a whopping 480 horsepower that can push you from 0 to 60 in 3.8 seconds and up to 634 lbs-feet of torque that means you can tow up to a maximum of 3,306 pounds.
Modern Interior
The layout of the Mach-E is helped by the fact that the battery pack is located under the middle of the vehicle, which gives you 29 cubic feet of space in the back which can be expanded to 60 with the back seats folded down. The center console is defined by the 15.5-inch touchscreen that comes standard with 3 years of built-in navigation technology with an electric vehicle trip planner that can help you avoid running out of juice while on the road.
