Is your car AC not working? Visit your Ford dealer today for a professional diagnosis and repair. A faulty air conditioner can ruin your drive and leave you sweating behind the wheel, so watch out for the telltale signs of failure and visit the dealership immediately for professional assistance.

Leaking Refrigerant

Your Ford’s air conditioner relies on refrigerant to produce cool air. The refrigerant flows through various components like the compressor, condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. If there are any leaks in the closed-loop system, the fluid can escape and reduce the AC’s cooling capacity.

If your AC has low refrigerant, it won’t provide enough cool air for the cabin. Our technicians can pinpoint the location of the leak and repair the damaged component. They will also recharge the AC to restore adequate cooling.

Compressor Issues

The AC uses a compressor to pump and pressurize refrigerant, enabling it to flow through the system. Over time, the compressor can wear out due to broken internal components. A bad compressor won’t properly pressurize the refrigerant. As a result, your AC may stop cooling properly or fail.

A defective compressor may also produce strange noises when in operation. Our technicians can inspect the compressor and compressor clutch to check for faults. They will replace the damaged parts, like the clutch or shaft seals, so your AC can start working again.

Fans Not Working

Fans are critical components in your AC because they blow air across the evaporator coil and circulate it through the cabin vents. If the fans aren’t working, your AC won’t blow any air when you turn it on. Fans can fail because of blown fuses, stuck motors, or bad relays. Luckily, these components are easy to replace, and if you need new fans, we can install new ones for you.

Broken Blower Motor

Your Ford’s AC uses a blower motor to power the cabin ventilation fan, which pushes air through the vents. Like any electrical component, the motor can burn out over time, leaving the vents blowing weak air or nothing at all. Our technicians can repair the faulty blower motor and check for other issues like damaged wiring and faulty blower speed control modules.

Electrical Issues

Your AC’s compressor clutch, fans, controls, and sensors rely on electrical power and signals to activate properly. Problems like short circuits, blown fuses, faulty control modules, and damaged wiring can disrupt power to the components and cause erratic AC operation.

If your AC clicks on and off unexpectedly or doesn’t turn on, it has an electrical issue. Our Ford technicians can pinpoint electrical problems in the vehicle and fix them promptly to get your AC working again.

Don’t put up with an AC that won’t work when you need it the most. Contact Lundeen Brothers Ford of Annandale to schedule a diagnosis.
